Nutrisystem in 2012

If you have been watching the TV ads lately (and who hasn’t?) you probably couldn’t help notice that Janet Jackson has become the new “face” of Nutrisystem. That’s a major piece of reinventing for the diet delivery company after what was probably a mediocre year without any celebrity at the promotional helm.

So a year on since they dropped Marie Osmond and Dan Marino as celebrity spokespersons it seems Nutrisystem have gotten back on the big name bandwagon and gotten themselves a really BIG name to boost the company’s fortunes. But aside from the advertising angle, what is new at the diet company now that we are into another new year?

Well, after reading some of the revamped and updated Nutrisystem reviews that are popular with new customers, it is pretty obvious that some big changes have been happening to the diet menus as well as the program layouts. There have been some big improvements in meal quality and attractiveness thanks to bringing on board a group of celebrity chefs to revamp and upgrade the menus.

One big change is the introduction of the dreaded protein shakes! Not everybody likes them and so this was a pretty bold move by the diet giant. The shakes integrate into the daily menu not to replace one of the meals but to replace one of the snack bars! Now this is interesting, as it still means you get the standard three meals per day, but instead of having a mid morning snack bar with your coffee, you get to drink a pasty tasting shake instead.

Some customers have complained they didn’t much care for the taste of eh shakes and some inventiveness was called for on the part of those canny customers who added some flavor in the shape of liquidized fruit or juice to the shakes to make them taste better without adding too many extra calories. Full marks for making a good thing out of a not so good one and boo to the complainers who didn’t have the sense to try that themselves!

All in all, the Nutrisystem diet menus are better than ever while the price is still among the lowest in this area of the diet industry. So don’t be put off by protein shakes as they are actually a good thing to help boost your metabolism (HINT: which you need to lose weight). The food is better and you don’t pay any more for it. I’d say its a pretty good deal for 2012 and for the coming summer beach season!

Watching Your Weight to Stay Slim

A person’s appearance says a lot about them on many different levels, not least of all their predominant state of health. When you are at the correct weight for your height and build, stand tall and straight and have the demeanor of someone who is confident and healthy, it projects a good feeling to those you meet. So its very important to keep your weight it check by sticking to a healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise each day.

So if this is the desired state in any person, then why are there so many people who ignore this and let themselves get overweight and eventually clinically obese? Why do people eat so much junk food when they know it is bad for them and then complain to their doctors that the weight loss pills don’t work and what are they going to do about it?

Its a shame to see society go down the tubes this way, simply because so many people have forgotten that they are ultimately responsible for their own health and well being. The doctor can only do so much, its the patient that has to do the biggest share of the work to ensure they stay as healthy as they can. They choose what they eat and drink, whether they take some form of daily exercise or merely waste their lives away slumped in front of the television set or computer games console, getting fatter and lazier every day.

Everyone has the ability to think or themselves, because everyone has a brain in their heads, although you’d be forgiven for wondering about that sometimes. But when you can think, you can make choices and when you can make choices then its up to you to choose to be healthy or not. If you choose not to be healthy, then you can’t expect anyone else to help you if you won’t help yourself. But if you can break out of that debilitating mold and be strong and make that decision that you will help yourself, then amazing things can happen.

A person’s weight so often reflects their state of health and when it creeps up to more than is considered manageable, then you need to take steps to get it back to where it should be for you personally. So you see its very important to keep watching your weight to make sure you stay slim, trim and healthy, because after all you want to be in the best physical condition you possibly can by doing what you need to do to make it the norm.

Different Weight Loss Tips for Women?

While the general run of tips for weight loss are standard and indeed the basic ones are the same for everybody, there are some tips that suit women better than men and vice versa. So how much are women and men different when it comes to their strategies for losing weight and should it really matter all that much?

Well, in terms of exercise, there are big differences in body strength and mass where men are generally larger and able to exercise more heavily, especially when it comes to lifting weights at low reps for bodybuilding. This is at the topmost level of fitness and exercise and will not really make a whole lot of difference down at the level of most normal sized people, men or women.

As for diet, there are differences in the areas that men and women store fat, where men have a tendency to store more fat around their belly whereas women tend to store more fat around the buttocks and hips, which is why women tend to be more prone to the dreaded cellulite. But for dieting purposes, each sex can generally eat the same, albeit in different amounts. Where an average sized man can get away with eating 1500 to 200 calories a day and maintain a healthy weight, an average sized woman will have to restrict that level to 1200 to 1500 calories a day. of course this is only a rough guideline as everyone will differ in the actual amount they are able to handle on a day to day basis.

So where does that leave us in terns of looking for the different weight loss tips for women? Well, it takes us right back to the basics again that apply to every human being regardless of sex, height, build, weight or lifestyle. That very basic precept is you will lose weight when you consume fewer calories than you burn.

There is no getting away from this precept, because it is a physical law that cannot be broken. You cannot make something out of nothing, ergo you cannot gain weight if you are not putting more mass in the form of food into your body than your body is burning up through its normal daily processes and any exercise you choose to provide it with (and you should!). So its a simple case of sticking to the basic principle of body weight maintenance and you won’t go far wrong.

Weight Loss Is Not The Same for Everyone

While there are many generic diet and other weight loss plans that are available for people to use to lose weight, it doesn’t mean that there is a “one size fits all” kind of plan that can guarantee you any measure of success. The main reason for this is that everyone is different and so will lose weight in a different way to everyone else.

That’s not to say that two people cannot use the same diet plan and have equal measures of success, because that absolutely can happen. But more often than not, the best way for a person to lose weight is to set about it by creating an individual plan based upon their own personal character traits, physical build and lifestyle.

So where one person will find it easy to exercise in a certain way, another may not, but they will be able to stick to a diet that the other person perhaps cannot. Or one person loves swimming but hates running, whereas another loves running but hates swimming. Someone with a large physical build will have different dietary needs to a smaller person of slight build. A naturally active person will have different exercise needs to a couch potato. A busy housewife will have different eating habits to a lady of luxury.

Its all about personal preferences and how we view them in relation the way we are. One man’s meat is another’s poison is a saying that really holds true in the case of weight loss diets and plans. The way to succeed in your own personal journey to lose weight is to be able to choose the right strategies that complement the way you are and to avoid those that don’t resonate with you.

So you can see that it is pretty obvious that losing weight is not the same for everyone. So it makes sense to gather up as many good and workable weight loss tips as you can, then work on your own plan as an individual and don’t take to heart what other people are doing, whether succeeding or not. After all, your personal plan is yours and yours alone and its totally up to you to use it to lose weight and your own success.
